Wow! Over 3 years with no updates to the site... Where does the time go?
To be honest, I'm suprised how much traffic I still get on this site, I
guess there is still some value to it, which is why I've kept it running
all these years.
Well, lots of things have changed. As you may have noticed, I have officially
betrayed the Honda contingent and bought a 2008 Evo X. After having
a second child, getting in and out of the back set of my RSX just
became too much of a pain in the ass, plus my wife was so sick
of how loud it was... I shopped around for about a year and finally
settled on the Evo. Sorry, Honda fans, but I wanted 3 things: AWD, 4 doors, and
speed. Honda just doesn't have anything like that right now. Maybe the
2009 Acura TL SH-AWS will, but that's probably going to close to $40k and
a bit to old-man for me. So I got a Rally Red Evo X. It's very
similar to to old Firepepper Red, but a bit less purple and a bit
darker. It actually wasn't even my first choice, I really wanted
Graphite Gray, but they had this one on the lot, so I got a good
price on it. Let me tell you, this car is so amazing! The acceleration
from 3k on up is downright nasty, and wow can this thing corner! The
AYC is just crazy, just when you think you are about to understeer, the
rear outside wheel just pushes you through the turn. It's unlike anything
I've ever driven before. Plus there is such a huge aftermarket for
Evos... There are already a couple flashes out there, couple piggy-back
systems, and soon there will be an open-source ECU (EcuFlash) ready
for the new Evo. Very cool, and most folks are getting 50 hp without
even raising the peak boost level. Cool, cool, cool. I've got lots
to learn since the NA and FI worlds are so different, but there are
a couple good boards out there, so I'm learning quick.
Other stuff..
I finally switched over to a dedicated hosting service for iVTECdaily.com
after running it off of my home ISP for it's entire existance. My
upload bandwidth just sucks, especially now that we have 2 VOIP lines,
so I switched over to using dotster.com (I've used them as a domain
registrar for years). So far, so good, should be about 10x more
bandwidth for the site.
Not quite sure how much more updating I will do, or if I will have to
register iBoostdaily, MIVECdaily or something else appropriate for the
new ride. We'll see.
